AIDA orchestrated a transformative one-day mushroom cultivation workshop, offering a novel path to livelihood diversification for 22 eager participants. Through a blend of theoretical insights and hands-on practice, the session aimed to equip individuals with the expertise necessary for sustainable mushroom cultivation. Under the expert guidance of Mr. Lanthou Mark Gonmei, Project Manager, and Mr. Jerome Mungkung, Livestock Associate at AIDA, participants delved into the intricacies of mushroom cultivation, gaining invaluable knowledge and practical skills. The training underscored not only the potential of mushroom cultivation as an alternative livelihood but also emphasized the significance of sustainable agricultural practices. Expressing enthusiasm for the opportunity to empower community members, AIDA's Executive Director, Rev. Fr. Roy George, highlighted the workshop's role in providing participants with the tools to pursue mushroom cultivation as a sustainable income source. Beyond mere instruction, the workshop fostered a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among participants, creating a platform for mutual learning and growth. As individuals immersed themselves in the cultivation process, they uncovered new avenues for personal and collective development, underscoring the transformative potential of this alternative livelihood option.
