Creating a safe ambiance for the children through coalition
Child friendly Dimapur, AIDA organised a workshop on “Child protection” for the community leaders at AIDA Conference Hall, Don Bosco on 26th march 2022. The workshop was attended by leaders form K. Sachu colony, Kacharigaon, Kuda B, Neisatuo Colony and GB representative from Gaon Bura Union.
Rev. Fr. Nebu Matthew SDB, Rector, Don Bosco Dimapur, delivered the welcome address as well as encouraged all the community leaders to work collaboratively towards creating an ambiance for the children to grow happily and joyfully.
Ms. Susan Lotha, Member, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), resource person, shared on the importance of protecting children from different form of abuse such as abortion, sexual molestation, child prostitution and other physical and psychological abuse as well. She added that among all, the most vulnerable are the children and furthermore, highlighted on the National Legal and Policy framework relating to children as per the constitution of India.
Highlighting on the existing child protection mechanism in the State, she said that community leaders should be aware about the national legal polices and the protection mechanism and she therefore encouraged the leaders to form and strengthen community level child protection committee which can ensure the safety of the children in their community.
