Launch of the Swabalambam Silai School in Wokha District

In a positive initiative, ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) launched the Swabalambam Silai School in Wokha District, providing opportunities for 50 women from 50 villages to be skilled in tailoring. The inauguration took place at AIDA, Dimapur on November 29, 2023.  Smti. Ngimchule Nampeung NPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Dimapur, Nagaland, graced the occasion as the special guest. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the distinguished guests and by invoking God’s blessing by Rev. Fr. Angel Kuldeep SDB, Associate Director of AIDA.  In the welcome address Rev. Fr. Roy George SDB, the Executive Director and Chief Functionary of AIDA, stressed the importance of empowering women in rural communities. He also appreciated the collaboration of Small Industries Development Bank of India, Usha International and Nagaland State Livelihood Rural Mission in empowering women. Smti. Ngimchule Nampeung, NPS, the assistant commissioner of police (traffic), Dimapur, encouraged the women trainees by graciously sharing her journey as a female officer, offering insights into how she adeptly navigated the complexities of societal expectations to establish her worth as a woman. Beyond sharing her experiences, she passionately encouraged the trainees to aspire to economic - independence and financial self-sufficiency. Smti. Nampeung conveyed a powerful message of resilience and the transformative impact of determination and support to the women trainees. Mrs. Rosey Ngullie one of the trainee, shared the journey of her training and emerged as a storyteller of her own journey, a participant turned ambassador of change, sharing a testimonial that echoed the transformative impact of acquiring sewing skills. The program concluded with the hymn to Don Bosco.
